Yippee! My Week In The Life has kit finally arrived and I love it. However, now that I am in my groove of photographing and documenting I am happy to resist the urge to get stuck in a little longer. Oh, If you are wondering about Week In The Life project, brainchild of the wonderful Ali Edwards, you can see more detail about it here.
So Thursday. I think about 94 photos were taken and here is the Thursday Story.
5.20am – The calm before the storm once more. I always start off the week really organised and prep lunches the night before but, often as the week goes on the enthusiasm wains.5.40am – Just before I start the wake up routine I sometimes come out and say hi to all of these guys. Up the moment they hear me stir. Love the way these guys squeak to say hello. She is NEVER far away and usually under my feet just like this. I kind of like the way her soft fur feels on my feet. And then there is Lilly. Totally unlike Abbey in temperament and usually nudging a tennis ball under my feet in anticipation of even the lightest tap of it so she could chase it. You see that face right “can we play now?”6am – Wake up time. She always starts smiling the moment she sees me…. 7.20am – Oh Oh. Looks like we are out of my son’s favourite toast topping. 6.45am – A delicious and nutritious smoothie for Lincoln and me7.15am – Always lots of hugs. Most days when I give them squeezy hugs to say goodbye for the day I just want to keep holding them forever.10am – A little present for me ….. Simple packaging is often the best12.30pm – Making my lunch in the staff kitchen. Toasted rye with salmon and cream cheese. Currently a favourite “make at work” lunch for me.
2pm – I love that we both work in the city. I got a message today to come meet him here for a quick “looksee” … He’s like a kid in a candy store. And I love that we can have occasional meet up in the city together. We should do it more.3.30pm – Yep it was overdue. Time to shun those greys. (PS I am grateful for hair! LOL)9.30pm – It’s been a long day and as I was on my computer I hear a few noises from her room. “It’s International Teachers day tomorrow” I’m told, “So I am making a gift for my teacher.” .. way past her bedtime but she was determined. She is so very thoughtful.11.30pm – Blog updates and general catch up12.15am – These have been hanging in our bedroom for a few years now. Somehow they never came down and I love their warm and happy light. It’s usually the last one that goes off in our bedroom before sleep.
That’s it for today. I can’t believe how fast this week is going and how many photos I have taken. I am loving every minute of the process. 3 days to go. I can do it!
