December Daily 2014 – Day 1

comments 24

Hi and welcome to the start of my December Daily adventure for 2014.

In 2013 I adopted this wonderful concept created by Ali Edwards 3 and am doing it again this year.

My progress posts  will mainly be brief and picture based as I am again trying to do a day per night where possible.

This year as my base I am using the Ali Edwards December Daily 2014 kit that I purchased here. I will likely add a few other embellishments and Silhouette cuts along the way as I did last year so if you are also doing December Daily this year then I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

A quick note on day one. This, along with Christmas day, is probably the biggest (aka most photo intensive) day for me in this project and I don’t intend to do as many pages per day as I did for Day 1. Also the photos were taken late at night so not ideal but I did the best I could.

So let’s go.IMG_9351

I used an older Ali Edwards December digital brush on the large picture of the tree that says “Bring on the Twinkle”

I wanted an extra page but didn’t want to use pockets so I just inserted on of the 6×8 papers and stuck photos on it. Reinforced the holes for diner with gold wash tape.

The collage on the right is from this years Digital extras set by Ali Edwards. I just changed the word art to “Twinkle”

I added a little glitter to a few of the light on this piece of paper from the kit just for a little sparkle

Day one is done!

Any question or comments please lt me know.

Thanks for coming.

Love how you have captured the essence of all that is Christmas, I really enjoy seeing a whole family involvement! Your tree is stunningly huge!

    • Thank you Michellle. Yes the rule is that the tree must touch thr ceiling! LOL …

  2. Just beautiful! You have given me such inspiration with the “easy” collage on one page. Love your ideas! Thanks, Kim

    • Thanks Kim! The collage is actually an Ali Edwards digital template I bought 🙂 gotta keep it manageable 🙂

  3. So pretty! (And just by looking at yours I was convinced to go back and type up my journaling!) It looks so neat and pretty. Can’t wait to follow along this season with you!

    • Oh hey Heather! I do sometimes wish I could do more handwriting but can’t bring myself to do it hehe
Thanks for commenting and for coming along for the ride.

  4. I love this!!!! I have to have that “bring on the twinkle” brush now for my page tomorrow that will be an enlargement of my tree! I love how you weren’t afraid to do several pages. Can’t wait to see more!

  5. So nice! I didn’t realize you can change the words on Ali’s layered templates. I really like how you added the word “twinkle.” Is it easy to do?

    • Hi Danielle,
It is easier on some templates than others. In this instance on Ali’s collage template the word it in fact it’s own layer so, it is therefore easy to move or hide and drag another one on instead. I have used Photoshop elements for a few years now so I do think it is easy. Just depends where you are at with that sort of thing. Thanks for dropping by.

  6. Happy to see you again! You and Marie are the two I most look forward to yearly. Thank you! (Love adding glitter on the twinkle lights.
