December Daily 2015 – Day 3

Hi There,

Here we go with my Day 3 layout!

Today the main thing I wanted to capture was our letter writing to Santa. This is a tradition that I personally really love. I love how my kids have progressed to all learning how to write, how creative they are with their letters  but most of all I love the extra bits they write. Sometimes to Santa, sometimes to Sam our Elf, sometimes just a note to say how good they may have been.. or tried to be.

Here is the opening of the layout. Finally used a tag from the kit for my number 3. I added a little of the Gold striped washi (oh that stuff is just amazing and my favourite embellishment in the kit so far)

IMG_8082Because the tag has a reverse side generally not seen I was happy to hand write on it. 🙂 The “Santa Clause is coming to town” card I created and it was a small labour of love but I am am happy how it turned out. The words and lettering were from an Ali Edwards digital file you can buy here. I cut it using my Silhouette Portrait and actually used the negative of that . It was cut out of Heidi Swapp Minc sheets which you can buy from most Minc stockists.  (Minc Paper is just black toner sheets that you can buy that ensure that foil adheres properly. ) Then I foiled it with gold  Heidi Swapp Minc foil. It was the most involved part of this layout for sure but, I’m glad I did it.

This idea is directly copying what Ali Edwards dis on her day 2. Two 7×5 photos stuck back to back with holes punched in to just put direct in the album without a sleeve.

Here is the last part. The back of the photo insert.

The Dear Santa stamp is a leftover bit from a previous years kit and just stuck onto the photo wth foam dots.

The story of the day is here. Some of you may have a keen eye and notice that the pictures of this page further above does not have the “Dec 03 2015” stamp on them. This was an afterthought and I used the giant Studio Calico stamp to do this. Just felt the top page needed a little something.

This little note my son squeezed at the bottom of his Santa letter was probably my favourite part of the letters written this year. It looks like I ripped it off his letter but I didn’t, I photographed it and printed onto cardstick. I like this ripped off and grubby look.

Ok that’s it for day 3. Day 4 will not eb completed tonight because I have my work Christmas party tonight but I’ll catch up tomorrow.

Until then.

Petra x
