I have already posted some privies of this on social medial but it’s true this is now my favourite layout in this years album (so far). Even though I used a rather non christmassy pink as my base colour.
So here is the main double page layout of day 8. No journaling, no fancy embellishing and I really like how it turned out.
The number eight is on a little tag I made out of cardstock using a new Friskas Tag punch I won (yay me! I never win anything). The cutest part about the punch is that it has a little eyelet setter so you make your tag, eyelets and all. Love the clean look. (this is not a sponsored note about the tag maker by the way, I won it through Spotlight and could not believe my luck).
Perhaps the most notable part of this page is the fact that I had printed the picture of my little biscuit moulds on transparency. I did this because it gives the photo a less heavy look. It’s hard to explain unless you see the two side by side but I have used this technique before a few times and really like it. Note you do need special inkjet printable transparency. Not always easy to find in store but you should have no trouble online. The “Christmas tradition” is stamped on.
You have probably already seen this picture enough. They were well proud of the biscuit efforts but I was a lot more proud of them, working together to a fabulous end result. They did an awesome job and they tasted as good as ever! Seriously JOY!
This is the only embellishment on the big 6×8 photo. Just a meta rimmed tag for which I punched some pink cardstock and stamped the word joy. Again VERY VERY simple all in the aim of getting it done and not overthinking it. When you have a great photo it doesn’t always need clutter. 🙂
Of course there was some story telling. I left that to the back of the 6×8 photo. I used another Ali Edwards 6×8 template so little thinking just putting it together.
Some of you may have noticed this tag sticking out of the top. I just slipped it in between the two 6×8 photos.
Here it is out. I gave my daughter these two large tags and asked her to write down the recipes they used for their biscuits. Each christmas I’m always hunting around for these recipes but, this way I will always know where they are. I preserve a little of my lovely girls writing and she really enjoyed making these.
That’s day 8 done. Hope your December Daily journey is going well.
