It’s December again so I thought I’d add some new content to my blog. Love this time of year and I love the December Daily Project. It’s pretty much been 12 months since I added anything here since my last December Daily.
If you don’t know about December Daily, pop over the the creator’s website here. Ali Edwards is amazingly inspiring, has beautiful products and most importantly creates a community of December Daily fans like me who love to share and inspire their journey and the process of creating December Daily memory keeping and story telling albums.
Day 1 is now well and truly done and I am pleased to day I am off to a great start and have already finished my Day 1 pages which I will show you here. My hope is to share nightly where possible as I always try to complete the days story on the night it happened. This has worked for me in the past so I hope to keep it going that way.
This is my opening page. I used an Ali Edwards inspired cut file from her December Daily Product Play Class. I used my Silhouette to cut the corrugated paper semicircle and to also cut out the words “December Daily”. This Semicircle is basically a sandwich of 3 sheets. This corrugated one you see here, the glitter paper underneath and just plain white card stock on the back both the 2017 and star are all stickers.
The flip side is this little introduction to my December Daily. I have done intentions or hopes for December pages for the past few yeas so trying to keep that going. The heart embellishments and the “season of stories” are both from Ali Edwards 2017 kits that I purchased earlier in the year.
In the past I have always started the album with a picture of our Christmas Tree but this year I had some professionally taken photos of our family for the first time ever. I am in love with them and just had to include at least one in this album. Best of all they only just arrived so it was a perfect fit. The photos were taken by the amazing photographer Nicole Ramsay. You can see more of her beautiful work here. I cannot speak highly enough of Nicole she is not only a wonderful photographer but an even lovelier person. (Thank you Nicole I will cherish these forever xx)
Prior to printing this photo, I put a digital overlay over it using Photoshop Elements, The “one” at top and a line and the word “December” at the bottom. The digital Overlay was also designed by, you guessed it, Ali Edwards and you can purchase these here.
The 1st of December was also the start of School Holidays and int he past I have always done a little surprise “end of school year” party for the kids, this year it wasn’t so much a surprise but we did it anyway and they loved it just the same. I had my daughter write the little bit of journalling here as I am really going to try include everyones voices in this years album not just mine.
This is another Digital brush from Ali and the little word “one” is from a kit from previous years I had left over.
So, off to a good start. Hope you join along with me this year. Let me know if you ahve any questions and I will try post again tomorrow.
