Project Life 2014 – Week 1

I’m about to head away for about a week so I thought I’d do a quick little blog post of my 2014 Week 1. I am using the Becky Higgins Midnight kit and a few other bits and pieces as I go along.  I have only done a couple of weeks but I am liking the simple colours in the Midnight kit because you can match them with other colours.

DSC_0010Left side of the week right here. It was a short week because I started on the 1st of January and run from Monday to Sunday as I do every year. I bought a pack of 3×4 calendar cards form Studio Calico which I really like. The pack contains the same look but different orientations and colours. You will be seeing more of these this year. And you’ll notice that once again I am combining my love of Digital elements with physical ones too.DSC_0011

This is the right side of week one.
DSC_0017I had received a Silhouette Portrait for Christmas and when putting together this week I finally unpacked it and gave it a whirl. The word “friends” on this little insert card I made is cut using my Portrait. I love it already.DSC_0018We caught up with a few friends this week. It’s Summer Holidays so lots is going on. I thought it was the perfect spot for the little “rules for life” card. DSC_0016So this light Teal colour is the one that you can see I carried though this layout. Looks great with the Blacks of the Midnight kit. I was also pretty excited when I realised the font (and it’s colour) on this “Everyday Awesomeness” Overlay that is made by Chic Tags and came in my Studio Calico Blue Note Monthly kit matched a Thicker font I had in my stash. (it’s called  Sketchbook and is made by American Crafts). Untitled-1Here is the full layout. Sometimes the “embellishments” can be something as simple as a fe little bits from a Thicker set like I did here. A few stars, a geotag and some brackets tie it in with the “week one font” on the title card.

That’s it for this week. Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Thanks For Dropping In

  1. Beautiful pages Petra – so inspiring! I really want to play with some thickers now 🙂

  2. Sandra Bunch

I love that shot of Calvin on the BBQ hehe. Teal is a divine choice with the black & white. I often use the brackets & stars in the Thickers sets too, but I haven’t noticed the geo tags in there yet. I’ll have to go check them out now!
