PROJECT LIFE

untitled (1 of 1)-32Hey there friends. Well I went for something a bit different this week. Inspired by the comments about my “circle journalling” from last week and by circles in general, cause let’s face it, they are awesome. I was wondering what it would look like taking all the “straight edges” of the PL style layout. Now of course I’m limited by the page protectors and card shapes but I did’t let that stop me. Still using Becky Higgins Midnight kit I went a bit more digital this week to come up with the final layout. Hope you like it. untitled (1 of 1)-30Here is the left hand side. So essentially I thought I’d use circular clipping masks for my photos and picked out the Midnight core kit cards that also contained circles or spots. No I don’t have the clipping mask templates  to share, I kind of just made it up on the fly depending on the photos. It really is very simple to do and I am happy to do a video if there is enough interest. untitled (1 of 1)-33To be honest, the other main motivation for the circles was that  my photos for this week were rather, well, sparse and mostly (but not totally) uninteresting. Finally  it was because the kids were at the time obsessed with these water holding beads (usually used for flowers… but not in this house). The circles just made sense.untitled (1 of 1)-34At the recent Brisbane paper craft Expo I had purchased these super cute Heidi Swap embellishments. Cute coloured words printed on clear plastic. Love the words, colours and script. You will see I used the entire packet (quite intentionally) in this layout. Here are a few more close up shots of these. They don’t seem to have a specific name on the packet for me to share. Maybe someone knows what they are called?untitled (1 of 1)-35untitled (1 of 1)-38untitled (1 of 1)-36untitled (1 of 1)-31Here is the right hand side of the layout. Circles, circles everywhere. Once I started I could not stop. LOLuntitled (1 of 1)-39A smaller circle made this bland, and off the cuff shot of a slurpee look so much more intentional. Well I think so anyway :) untitled (1 of 1)-37Now clearly this is not an awesome quality picture of my hubby but it tells a story that is very close to my heart. So, in it went!untitled (1 of 1)-41And last but not least, the full layout.

I will be honest that this layout took a bit longer (in my terms) than they usually do but I am pleased with the result and the change of shape. Hope you like it too. Any questions, as always, let me know.

Until next time.

Thanks for Dropping In
