Quick Project ‘Back to School’

DSC_0262Tomorrow is the first day of school. Life is busy here and things don’t always go to plan.

I was quite sure I had it all covered and ready. The uniforms, lunch boxes, books, pens, pencils, glues, note books, text books, book covers, book labels…. hang on!  Oh no!  I have no name labels for April’s books.

Ok. So it’s 9pm on a Tuesday and I am exhausted from a hectic day at work but, the kids start at a new school tomorrow. It’s a big day for them all and the last thing we need is anxiety over not having all the school stuff ready. My immediate reaction was to go searching for free printable labels on the net. I have a printer, I even have blank labels should be a breezee…. as I am searching the many lovely images available online I thought to myself “why not just use something I already have?”.

It didin’t take me long to zoom into my Becky Higgins digital downloads I purchased from AC DIGITALS. Looking at the graphics, knowing April’s favourite colour was pink and fast running out of energy the choice was easy. Becky Higgins Baby Edition For Her. Gorgeous colours, patterns, letters, numbers and pre designed papers & journal cards that I could instantly tell would work. No she is not a baby but I think these colours work wonderfully well without screaming “baby”.

I grab a .pdf template for my labels off the net (why reinvent the wheel right?) pick a font and off I go. In no time I’m ready to print.DSC_0256

I came up with these 8 little cuties. Awake and with fresh eyes I realise there are 10 not 8.DSC_0261Labels printed I peel and stick them onto Aprils books and the problem is solved.

Seriously simple, quick & pretty. I guess I could have just written on the books with a black marker but, I think this is so much better.

Thank you Becky  you have taken some anxiety away from our big day tomorrow and I will be able to sleep tonight. x

(PS the photos are not the best. Sorry about that. It’s late and I had no natural light)

Thanks For Dropping In

Petra
