Hi and welcome to my week 30. No I’m not quite up to date with my weekly layouts but I am moving forward and have finally come to terms that it’s not a race it’s a journey and I plan to really enjoy it. So here we go with week 30 and onwards with the Becky Higgins Jade core kit.
Here is the left side to start with. There are some gorgeous shades of blue in this kit and I love using them because they make creating layouts so very easy. For my title card this week I played with some Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Teal and a Studio Calico stencil. Just a quick note that I have only recently been introduced to Colorshine (Thanks Sandra from @thecraftybunch) and I am in love. The colour and shimmer to it is just lovely and I thought the Teal colour went really well with the spots on the core kit card.
I kept the “day by Day” filler card on this page totally untouched and just plucked it straight out of the kit and into the album. Tis is unusual for me but this time I was happy with it as it was.
Right here is the Right (and more involved) side. This side includes a flip pocket as well a large landscape photo across the top .
This long photo was taken by my hubby (thank you sweetheart) and I think it’s gorgeous. He has a way of capturing really dreamy photos even when motion is involved. It just needed to be big.
The flip pocket is right here again with a co-ordinating tab all flipped up. It was all about Mackenzie’s first school sports day. I included a 3×4 journal card and attached it to the photo with a few stitches just for a bit of fun. The bottom half holds all the stickers she proudly earned on the day as well as the main ribbon for participation.
I find often these little things go missing and I forget to add them into my albums. Not this time 🙂
Here is a bit of a sideways view of of the weekly layout just for completeness.
I’ll really try not to be so long between posts next time.
Thanks for Dropping In
