Week 36

Hi. Yes I am still here I have just been neglecting the blog a bit lately. Sorry about that and rest assured that as I catch up to my weekly layouts (now starting week 41) I will be blogging more regularly. The truth is you will see there are quite a few inserts in the next few weeks. Lots of birthdays and Fathers day etc. I find it a little overwhelming when there is a lot to “crunch through” and so the process always seems to grind to a bit of a holt this time of year. But I am pleased to say I am back on track and weeks are coming together thick and fast! Enough of that let’s get on with the show!

The “week” card is brought to you by a Close To My heart stamp called “Reel Life”, a Studio Calico Feather and hashtag and some Amy Tangerine Remarks Vellum letters.

DSC_0054So starting (as I always do) with the left side of the layout. Still marching along using my Becky Higgins Jade Core Kit. Picking on the “Jade” colour itself this week. The concept is quite simple and once again paired with some wood veneers. Apologies about the “Spots” visual. I was pretty sick at the time.

DSC_0079Here is a little close up of Mackenzie with “Buddy Bear” Pop on a Veneer word (This one came form one of the Studio Calico kits) Even braved a little handwriting. yay me!

This is the first of two inserts. It is a Becky Higgins 12×6 insert. No pockets just solid. I like to add these in now and then for a bit of variety. Hubby turned 40 this week so we took a day off and went out to a fancy restaurant. Just the two of us. We indulged in amazing food and expensive champagne. (I kept the receipt form the lunch and it is on the back side of this insert…. won’t bore you with that. )

DSC_0059Next Insert right here. This is the Becky Higgins G Pocket page. As you have already guessed my youngest turned 6. It was so hard choosing just a few photos but I did it and love the one of her standing on chair even tho her dress almost blends into the background.

DSC_0082I just cut out a number “6” in Vellum and used a Crafters Workshop metal Die for the “Hello”.

DSC_0060Here is the back of the insert. I relied mainly on digital elements here because I wanted the photos to tell the story of our one on one day together. All of my kids look forward to these, least of all cause they get totally spoilt. And truth be told I was getting tired of wading through many, MANY photos and wanted the page done.

DSC_0056Over here is the Right hand side of the weeks layout. It was a really big week for us as my son also had his soccer presentations. The Super was also cut on my Cricut from the Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.

IDSC_0083 really like to dress up these little insert cards rather simply. And since I was on a roll with the veneers, thought it would be nice to pop these two little curly brackets on just to make it all gel.

A few more veneer words here (really I can’t get enough of the veneer words) .

DSC_0084And finally the album pages as they lay below. You can’t see the second half of the week much because of the two inserts.

And that’s it for week 36

I promise not to be so absent again int the future. Thanks for sticking with me. Feel free to drop me a line, ask question or just say hello.

Thanks For Dropping In
