Week 4

Shut the back door! she’s finished week four.
Oh long, long week four you gave me such trouble. This was one of those weeks that just took me far longer than it should have and I’m still not loving it but as a friend of mine taught me “It’s not perfect, but it’s done”.
It was a big week for us here. A week celebrating Australia day and the weekend of major Queensland floods. No I wasn’t short on material by any stretch of the imagination but every now and then it’s a little more effort to get it done.
(Point to note, I changed the location where I took photos of my pages this week. Yeah, I think I’ll head back to my dark table for next week.) Anyway here goes….

Left Hand side above here. In the top right I included a few Instagrams this week using a little template I created and shared in an earlier post along with a video on how to use it. You can see it here. Straight away you will see that the words on the “Sad Day” card on this page are blocked out. I do try to keep it real in my album and sometimes it means documenting things that are perhaps not as happy or, that I don’t want to come back an haunt any of my kids or family later in life by being out here in the web-sphere. I am sure all understand.
The right side. I had a bit of fun with stamps this week using, among other Ali Edwards stamps I have, the January Technique Tuesday stamp by Ali. Upon some reflection and flipping through my albums it seems I use Ali Edwards stamps most weeks. Either the digital brushes or the actual clear stamps. It’s that delicious, loopy writing I just can’t get enough of.
I did say it was a big week right? Generally that means …. yep you guessed it, an insert.
Here is one side.
This is a Becky Higgins page protector G. As always my inserts are smaller than 12×12 and I really like this one. It has a nice balance and variety of portrait and landscape slots. I was actually put onto the G a long time ago by Tammy from The Scrapbookers Inner Circle who told me they are great for inserts and that I would love them. She was so right. I always say a little thank you to her in my head when I pull one of these out…. ok waffling …. sorry. Here is the other side of the insert.
This one is all about the floods and how we saw and experienced them here in our local area. Last but not Least below is a picture of the 2 page layout put together. It’s ok & it’s done.
Thanks For Dropping In

So sorry for your difficult week. It’s awesome to record it all,and you have once again done it! Blessing to you and yours for this new week.
Watched some of the news depicting the rain and the flooding, but your photos make it very personal. Thank you for sharing your week and making it so positive. Love your work and AE’s stamps. Are the Days of the Week Circles hers too?
Hi,
The floods were something I had experienced for the first time,
No those little circle day stamps are not AE. They are a little set from Two Peas In a Bucket called “Beautiful Project Life Clear Stamps”. They are by SC/Hero Arts and I believe this set is exclusive to Two Peas. I use this stamp set quite a bit.

I’m sorry you’re not loving your Week 4. I’ll love it for both of us. =) It looks fabulous to me. As always I envy the insert, the thing we digital scrappers are denied.
Hi Donna,
Never really occurred to me you know that the digi versions can’t so smaller inserts.
Do you get a whole book printed at the end of your year?
Thanks Fro Dropping In

I know many of us are our own worst critics but this week is, as usual, a delight to view, because it is real, and it’s honest….the good, the bad, the funny (love the dog photo). And….always an inspiration.
Hi Amanda,
Thanks for leaving such a lovely comment. It means a lot to me. x

wow, as a newie to pl, that is awesome! the idea of taking photos of the milk! mind you wish i had those ideas years ago, when the kids were a lot smaller. but it give me smoothing to think about. thanks for sharing
Hi,
Thank you for your great comment. Yes sometime the most mundane & everyday things make the best photos.
It just struck me how much milk we go though each week and I just had to snap it.
I guarantee you that even though your kids are no longer little there are plenty of those types of moments around you.

Honestly you are amazing. Your work is getting better and better which is saying something because it was scrumptious from the word go. I love reading your journaling. I love you digital elements. And your photos are just gorgeous. Love the idea of the remote for your camera. Can’t wait for week five xxxxx
Hello Jodie,
You are just too gorgeous. Yes the remote was $5 well spent as I used it again in week 5 & 6!
Part of my quest to get in front of the camera more this year.
