Week 6

DSC_0083Doin’ it for kicks, rockin’ and rollin’ with  week six!

Aaah Orange. How I have missed you. (lucky there’s some in the Seafoam Kit!)

A note for those that would see it right away. The “W” in week on this here little card is actually an upside down “M”. The actual W would not fit and really I don’t mind it this way anyway.

Left side right here. On this page I loved playing with the flares on the bling picture. Close up they look really cool and sometimes you just need a little extra sparkle but, by far my favourite spot on this page is the little “smile” card. So very simple and sometimes I just need that little reminder.

DSC_0086Here’s what I really love about it.

  • 1 x journal card
  • 1 x small piece of washi
  • 2 x brackets from Thickers used on title card

Simple in message, look AND execution. Wish  it was always like this and has made me think even more about how to keep it simple.

D8E_0584Here is the Right hand side of the week. I used my little remote for that dinner table shot and I must say it is the best $5 I have spent in a long time! Why didn’t I buy this ages ago? How did I ever live without it? … Yes indeed I am getting in FRONT of that camera.

DSC_0090I also thought I’d add a little interactive feature this week too with the little orange envelope. It slides right out and inside are some of the fortune cookie messages form our Chinese New Year celebration dinner. You never know years down the track they may even make some good sense.

Week6Finally here it is all together as it sits in my album. This week brought to you by the colour Orange and the number 6!

Thanks For Dropping In

Petra

I have to say, I’m not a fan of the orange in the Seafoam but you make it work. Looks great. Would love to hear more about your $5 remote. Seriously, where did you get that??

    • petcor says:

      Hi Kelly,
As I was reading your comment I almost thought you were going to say my pages confirm our feelings about the orange! LOL. I love the colours together but am also finding them really versatile if you single them out. So you will notice I have a few weeks coming up where I do this with a colour from the Seafoam.
My little remote I bought from e-bay. $5 from HK. A bargain and a total gem. You can see it on the RHS of my week 4 layout.
      Thanks For Dropping In

      Hi Tina,
It was Mackenzie’s very first. How could I not include it? Thank you for your lovely comment.

      Hey Kristie,
Yes simple is good. I think I have started something with the little remote.

      Hi Jodie,
Thanks so much for your sweetness.
The remote $5 ! It’s a no brainer. Just make sure your Particular model can use one.

Of course, I LOVE your pages! I love the overall look. I like your color focus, which I never would have thought of. (I personally love orange.) And I like the little details, like the arrows on your five senses card. I’ve never used that card, because I thought I’d have to fill out info about all five senses. =) I will be copying that! XO!

    • petcor says:

      Hi Donna,
You are always so very sweet. Thank you. It’s funny about the five senses card because I never looked at it as a “need to answer all these” type thing but, I have since noticed a lot of people do! Funny how different people see different things like that.
Thanks Ever So Much For Dropping In

LOVE your pages Petra, sticking to one colour (ORANGE) looks so clean and fresh. Love the simplicity of your smile card, I assumed it was digi & didn’t realise it was washi tape until you said. Are the little brackets from Studio Callico Wood Veneers?

    • petcor says:

      Hi Leanne,
Thank you. The little brackets are from Studio Calico chipboard Thickers called “Anywhere” which I got from Jodie. Same as the letter I used for the “Week 6″ on the title card.
      Thanks For Dropping In

Beautiful page. I’m glad someone else uses letter as other letter. I make “o” out of “b” or “d” etc all the time.

    • petcor says:

      Hi Amanda,
Yes it’s good to get the most out of the packet of letters. Love it.

Lovely pages, as always Petra. I’ve been meaning to buy a remote for my new camera, and have just now ordered one after reading your comment above :)

    • petcor says:

      HI Kylie,
That’s awesome. I think if you capture even one image of you that you otherwise would not then it’s worth it.
