Week 8

PROJECT LIFE

DSC_0154I hope I’m not too late showing my week eight!

Ok so maybe I’m a little late as this layout was released with the monthly Becky Higgins Creative Team inspiration post but none the less here it is with a little more detail.

D8E_0602This is the Left Hand side of the weeks layout. At first I was a bit unsure of the pop of pink on this page but with time it has grown on me and I don’t mind it as much and have tried to include a couple of other small pops of pink. This week I am focussing on the clay colour in the Becky Higgins Seafoam core kit. The little polka dot filler card was made by cutting in a 6×4 title card from the kit in half.  I love the green frog on in the top left. It has been really wet here and these little cuties are outside in our yard and we all love them.

Here is the right side. I used the other half of the Spotty title card as a filler to make the “love her’ card. The week in review card just had some of the Seafoam Digital paper clipped into a Cathy Zielske “week in review” card which I bought from Designer digitals. Altogether nothing fancy this week with the exception of a flip out which you can see below.

DSC_0151This is the flip out. I just had to include a picture of this ‘penthouse’ my kids created for a caterpillar they found in the yard. I’s just magical when something like a caterpillar can keep the three of them both amused and playing together nicely for hours on end like they did on this Sunday. Yes we did let the caterpillar go at the end of the day. (Much to their disappointment). DSC_0152

I am also including a close up of this simple filler card I made just using an arrow stamp and some thickers. I think what I am really learning in this year of my Project Life journey is to include simple and clean filler cards to accent the pages and that not every single pocket has to have a photo. This is quite a shift in thinking for me but I must say I am enjoying it.

Last but not least here is the full layout.

Week8Thanks For Dropping In

  1. great photos, great pages Petra and I love reading your thoughts on how you’ve put your page together – love that jar – is it a stamp too?

    • Hi Leanne,
      Yes it’s a Dear Lizzy stamp 🙂
      Thanks For Dropping In

  2. Hi Petra,
I was wondering how you get the thin rounded white border, I tried making one myself in Photoshop elements and it never fully matched my corner punch… any tips?

    • Hi Kelly,
      It’s a clipping mask on a 6×4 white background.
I mostly use a Creative memories corner punch (they only have one size).
      Hope this helps.
      Thanks For Dropping In

  3. I love that you choose a colour and focus your spread around it.

Oh, and it’s never too late. I only just posted about Week 7 last week on my blog! 🙂

Thanks 🙂 yes just one colour at a time works for me. Although I feel a little better hearing you are also behind I still feel REALLY behind LOL!. I need to find an extra day in the week I think.
